Mr Bendy  MDF – His Nibs - is thinking about your painting requirements…

He has been to Germany – he is self-propelled – and in May will bring back a new machine for denibbing your newly painted boards.  NIB?  At first he thought he was back with his quill pen until he discovered that a painting “nib” is something altogether different.  He knows now that nibs are all those pesky little bits of MDF or wood under the coat of paint which are drawn to the surface by the painting and curing that he does on his NeatPaint machine.  It is not his fault; this is the way it is!  He is going to use his magic new machine to remove these nibs and save you the trouble.  You and he know that you won’t get a decent top coat without denibbing to a very smooth surface. So why do it by hand, when Mr Bendy is on hand? Mr Bendy’s machine is full to the brim with microchips and things that go up and down and back and forth.  He is looking forward to a fun time with this on top of all the other fun that occupies him.  And a chance to mop the sweat from his brow.>>

Meet Tahir, Factory Manager…

Tahir was appointed to the post of Factory Manager in October 2006.  He had been one of the NeatGang for 6 years and knew the business well.  He must see that production moves steadily on; that the right goods are loaded on and off the lorries which visit daily; that the men are as busy as NeatBees.   Recently he was seen in Trafalgar Square dressed in the Kosovan flag celebrating the declaration of independence of his native land.  And on March 9th he became a dad to Leon thanks to his wife Ardita.  Congratulations!

NeatFlex No Birch…

The flexible 19mm NeatFlex Birch is suffering from Birch starvation.  Mr Bendy has been having more and more difficulty finding the Birch which he needs to make this product.  But the good news is that since introducing this product, Mr Bendy has obtained a new material to substitute the Birch layer.  This is a very flexible phenolic impregnated  material which has many virtues over Birch: it is waterproof, smooth to the touch and likes paint.  It is also more receptive to machining.  So, where you need a stronger, thicker curve NeatFlex PIP is the stuff.  The MDF component is 18mm thick moisture resistant MDF.   This is just the stuff for concrete formers too.

Why was Easter so early?…

Easter is a “moveable” feast, unlike Christmas which is always on December 25th.  There have been attempts to fix it but none has succeeded.  In 1928 The League of Nations recommended the Sunday following the second Saturday in April; and the British parliament went along with this in the Easter Act of 1928 but never put it into effect.  As it is, Easter Day can fall on any Sunday between March 21st and late April.  This is because it is determined by the moon.  Easter Day is always the first Sunday after the paschal (or Passover) full moon which is the moon which coincides with or follows the spring equinox which is fixed as 21st March.  This year the paschal full moon is on Friday 21st March and Easter Day (Easter Sunday) is the next Sunday i.e. 23rd March.  There is a formula and table which includes golden numbers and dominical letters for calculating the date of Easter for evermore! Easter has not been this early since 1913!  Prepare for the next early one – in 2228!
